Does Acupuncture Hurt?

The needles used for acupuncture treatments bear little resemblance to the much feared hypodermic needles used for injections. They are much thinner, shorter, and more flexible, and can be precisely manipulated by a skilled practitioner.

A slight dull achy feeling, electrical charge, or "tugging" at the site of insertion is the most common description of the sensation at the needle sites. This may be followed by a feeling of warmth, relaxation, and increased local circulation.

My needling technique is very gentle, tailored to be as painless as possible for even the most sensitive client, and with varying levels of stimulation to meet each client's preferences.

All needles at Heavenly Stems Acupuncture are sterile, disposable, and individually packaged.
