Melissa Margolis, MSTCM, L.Ac.
Background and Vision

Melissa was raised in a family of distinguished doctors and developed a penchant for healing at an early age. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Harvard University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa. She completed several years of training at UCSF Medical School, but eventually gravitated towards holistic approaches to illness and wellness. A several year pilgrimage on the road of travelling in Asia introduced her to traditional healers in Eastern medicine, beginning her love affair with acupuncture and herbal therapies. She completed the Master's program at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2004. She is a Diplomate with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of California.  

Melissa has practiced Chinese Medicine in a variety of environments. She has provided ear acupuncture in a public health setting at St. James Infirmary. She apprenticed with a fertility specialist, where she helped to develop a textbook about Chinese Medical Gynecology.

Melissa's needle technique is gentle and nurturing, aimed at creating a comfortable and relaxing experience for her clients. She is experienced with many sensitive and first-time acupuncture clients. Her special interests are women's health, emotional issues, digestive complaints, allergy support, and pain management. She is committed to spending ample time with her clients exploring the complexities of their situation. She wholeheartedly believes in the importance of combining clinical skills and knowledge with artfulness for a profound therapeutic effect.
